So ... tongue firmly in cheek ... we can't all log it as conversion training before ' skipping ' off to Capetown , to fly the Buccaneer for real ? Can it really be called training if there are no real world a/c of that type left ?

Of course - you could be doing navigation training - or ATC training.
Those can be performed in any aircraft you like!
Think I have a migration tool knocking about somewhere - but haven't tried it. Unless you mean the payware one, which I wouldn't use anyway. I already have a 'ghost' installation of FSX - though it takes some time to find everything that installed and copy it over.

Is that what the chap at AVSIM came up with?Scorpius wrote:I found that the latest version of Migration tool specifically for P3DV2 lets me install whatever I want, even Revolution X.

Re: For those who haven't noticed...
Hi Skippy, I pointed the installer to the P3D folder, then removed the MSFS folder from the install path when it showed. I have the aircraft in P3D flying so id guess it worked that way.
Think i bumped into that yesterday, http://airdailyx.blogspot.de/2013/11/a- ... enery.html is this it?Effoh wrote:Chris,Chris Sykes wrote:Well my install downloaded in 20 mins (joys of new 70mb fibre) and installed yesterday. Havent installed much into it yet, but it runs on my PC so the 2gb 560ti is Ok for now. I did have my p3d set to 20 fps but set unlimited it happily runs faster than that. Noticed blurries with the F-22 in both limited and unlimited fps, guess this is the 560ti being a bottleneck now as my i7 is running at 4.3
. Now for the transfering over from FSX. I did install the S2 Bucc but the weapons wont load so i guess thats the DLL required to be added. Just have to wait for ORBX to be updated to p3d.
I found a workaround for ORBX...let me find it again and I'll get back to you...

Thought it was, not sure if the migration tool does a similar thing? Has anyone tried to use this or the tool to install ORBX UK sceneries in P3D?

Used the “Migration Tool” (eight pounds something) to install FTX England and Wales, worked well.Chris Sykes wrote:Thought it was, not sure if the migration tool does a similar thing? Has anyone tried to use this or the tool to install ORBX UK sceneries in P3D?
No taxiway surface textures showing though.
I can live with that till the ORBX update.

Hi Rob, as DaveG posted previously, robcarrich wrote:No taxiway surface textures showing though.
there is a fix for this. You'll need the 1.6 version of Airport Design Editor available from -DaveG wrote:This is a known problem. Something to do with the setting for the surfaces. If you use the very latest version of ADE it can be corrected.
Have a read here: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showth ... p?t=428216

As Dave says, read the tutorial at fsdeveloper. It's very easy to get the taxiways to display again.

Kevin

Re: For those who haven't noticed...
Thanks for that Kevin.
The issues with FTX England and Wales in the new sim, I have now discovered, go a bit deeper than just the taxiways with blurry textures being a major problem.
I’m now left with only FTX global and that's fine.

A wee update from me - downloaded the latest Nvidia beta driver, deleted the p3d.cfg and shader cache, now getting a solid 20fps with sliders mainly to the right. Safety catch back on the refund button for now

Re: For those who haven't noticed...
Well i had a play again, got the Bucc weapons loading now. But on the last flight they didnt want to load. Managaed to Get the Milviz F-15 copied over, no explosions though the FX files are there... I had the black screen issue a few times. Have updated my TrackIR and now have that in P3D. I do get an odd wingtip vortices issue where they draw a line from the wingtip down to the ground, sometimes it happens from the start of the sim... Might be a LM forum post if it keeps happening
