CH Throttle Quadrant.

Post by simondix »

Having just got the above I have set it up for two engine ops. Is there anyway to set it up for four props at a flick of a swich or do I have to go through the whole palaver of assignments etc if I want to fly four engines. I know it is lazy but time is restricted.

I think you can save different profiles within FSUIPC mate. This should make it easier to chop from a twin to a 4-engined model ;)

You can tell FSUIPC to automatically map the throttles according to how many engines the aircraft has, so in a twin, the 2 throttles work as you would expect, and in a 4 engined aircraft engines 1 & 2 are controlled by the first lever, 3 & 4 by the second.

I have had a look but I feel it is above my capabilities even following the instructions. I tried to progamme but could only get one throttle axis to show. I will leave well alone and stick to two engines. That leaves a Viscount at Heathrow.

It's been a while since I had mine and I can't really remember how I set it up now but one thing I DO remember is that I found it incredibly difficult to syncronise 4 engines using it. Even syncronising 2 engines on a turbo-prop was a bit of a chore which is why I let it go in the end. It was great on twin piston aircraft though.. controlling prop pitch was less traumatic than using a mouse :)

Being forced to leave a Viscount at LHR is a bit of a cop out. It's not the Viscounts fault

Sorry about the cop out Dave. I just don't know how to get round it.

I'm sure Fraser will fly it out at some point ;)

As it happens, I've often wished since that I'd not given mine away but there you go. The same goes for TrackIR. My generosity gets the best of me sometimes
