For those who haven't noticed...

Post by J0hn »

P3D v2 is coming.

Supposedly an announcement up tomorrow - NDA is already lifted on beta testers and there are some gorgeous shots around the net already. AVSIM is going bonkers in the forum - as are others.

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/426105-pre ... -november/

The kind of lighting effects etc shown in P3D v2 screenies is not new to those who use DCS sims, but it will be very nice to have that, and the other benefits, in our fave civvy sim.

Those who won't install FSX due to the bugs are going to suddenly run out of excuses...

There is also a "Professional Plus" release coming, which will be aimed at the military stuff, with working weapons, radar etc. How much that will cost is anybody's guess, but I'm quite sure I won't be able to afford it, considering how expensive the Professional licence was for the first version! :-O

Its still 32bit, so you'll still have some memory limitations, but DX11 is much better at memory management, so fingers crossed. Looking forward to it. :-)

It does look very nice. It will be interesting to see how much of what we currently have will still work in V2. I don't have the disposable income any more to be going and replacing all of my scenery etc, so fingers crossed it will work much as it did in V1.4 :cpu:

Bugs! What bugs in FSX. I think you are referring to anomalous challenges.

Hmmm, and yet again, after loads of hype and everyone who claims to be 'in the know' at AVSIM, SimHQ etc etc, having been going on about a "release and pricing announcement" from Lockheed-Martin on 18th November, here we sit and have heard...

nothing. :dunno:

Business as usual, then. SOP pinch of salt required.

Just been scouring the P3D forum and found this, from the LM admin:
v2.0 is a seperately licensed product for all licenses. It will be a new purchase if you choose to move to that product, regardless of what license you currently have or do not have.

All the information regarding v2.0 will be posted to our website next week.

Thanks for your support and interest in Prepar3D!

Dated 15th November 2013 - so an absolute date not given, but seems there will be info forthcoming this week some time - which is good enough for me.

and this, from the same date:
V2.0 will be released this month. More information to come next week.
