I had a power cut the other day as I was doing a backup!...The result was that it killed the backup catalogue and I had to delete the backup and do a FULL new backup of my system...The FULL backup took 22.5 hours and then the 620 odd backup files, each of 601MBs took most of yesterday to Defrag! :S

Have you no UPS system, Peter?
Well worth the cost. The latest UPS have lithium batteries giving longer run times during power outages, and longer serviceability.
Lead type batteries last 2 to 3 years were as lithium last up to 8 or 10.
Lithium of course are more expensive but on the long haul are cheaper. Plus the better units condition the power .

I have a 2 x 1Tb Netgear backup system, but I've never been able to understand the on screen control panel, so I just do a Windows back up and choose Netgear as the destination.

Do the SSDs lose cells quicker when they're full of alcohol, like humans do?
