I've been playing with Plan G flight planner, building what I call 'test flight plans' centred on Edwards AFB in California. Basically, they are a series of standard flight plans which can be used with new add-on aircraft in order to familiarize myself with the radio / radio nav set-up and the aircraft's general handling characteristics. By using the same flight plans repeatedly and so becoming familiar with them, I can concentrate on learning all about the new aircraft I've just bought. The plans are of varying length and complexity; short ones for slow aircraft like A2A's Cessna 172, mid-range ones for planes like the Nord Noratlas and Manfred Jahn's C-47, and long ones for aircraft such as the Captain Sim 727, 707, E3A and B-52.
Anyway, enough of all that waffle. This whole thread is merely an excuse for some screenies! Here's a couple of NASA's B-52H, which will be used to try out the long-range flight plans. The sun has just peeked over the horizon..( click on them to enlarge )
BTW, this is not a what-if repaint - 61-0025 is a NASA-owned Stratofortress and is an H-model, just as Captain Sim's is. It replaced their venerable B-52B 52-0008, which is now on display. Here's a pic of the real thing...
