Hi Paul ,
An appropriate sound, but not a Dak in sight!
Come to think of it, my favourite "modern" US aircraft, the Grumman Tracker makes an even better dakadaka sound.
Are you permanently in Sydney, or just for the Naval Centennary, BTW?
Oops! I didn't mean to imply Dakota/C47/DC3/etc... dakadakadaka was the sound we used to make chasing each other around the playground a hundred years ago when we were playing fighter planes.
I'm very lucky to live on Kurraba Point in Neutral Bay on the lower north shore of Sydney Harbour. The pictures were taken from the little balcony on the front of our apartment block. I take a ferry to work each morning and sometimes it just sucks..
(hmmmm... sunrise ). I had my brain taken out I mean I was neutered I mean I was naturalised 20 odd years ago.
All the best, Paul
It's not a 'bird', it's an aeroplane or an aircraft
