Hi Mike :)

I'm sure I've seen a Spartan Cruiser recently but I can't remember now if it was a FS model. Thought it might have been Lionheart but a quick check there draws a blank. *-)

Hi - been away for a bit so missed the original question, however -
I did start building one for FS9 but stopped when I moved on to a more interesting project :$
Here's what I built -
Image
It's not far off completion but so far there's no F.D.E. for it. Not promising but it may one day get to fly but
don't hassle me.
BTW- took a photo last week of the fuselage or a MK3 Spartan that crashed in Scotland - it's in the Museum of Flight at East Fortune.

Dave - I thought you said you had it on your list, but didn't want to pre-empt you!

That looks very pretty in Spartan Airlines livery. Hope you do find the time to complete it.
For the record other Uk operators of the Spartan Cruiser A.24Mail types I, II and III were
British Airways Limited (1936-1940)
Northern and Scottish Airways (1936)
Railway Air Services (1936)
Scottish Airways (1936-1938)
Spartan Air Lines (1933-1935)
United Airways (1934)
RAF

Miracles do happen 'littlemike' just not every day :)
To complete the story of the one which crashed in Scotland -
Image
It was G-ACYK which crashed in bad weather on the 14th Jan 1938 on a hillside near Largs. The pilot and wireless operator were the only occupants and were unhurt. The fuselage was recovered in 1974 and presented to the Museum of Flight which is where I took this photo last week. Note this aircraft had a metal covered fuselage in place of the wood & fabric on earlier Marks.

Looks fairly well perserved considering. I believe this Spartan Cruiser III was with Northern Scottish Airlines at the time of the crash (was with Spartan Air Lines till Apr 1936, then British Airways till August 1936).
