HS748 Question

Post by Nigel H-J »

I have just re-installed the HS748 after finding the FSX version on disc that I thought I had lost so had been using the FS9 one!! :worried:

Not sure if there is a problem but.......Firstly on take-off at around 80% A.U.W. with full power 6,000RPM acceleration is very slow compared to the FS9 version (which I have now deleted) and airspeed very sluggish unless around 1,000fpm climb whereas before I could manage 1500fpm comfortably. Secondly when in the menu for passenger loading + cargo (next to fuel) the C of G indicator is half way down the a/c diagram and when flying I have to wind on quite a bit of up elevator trim and for approach to landing 500 - 700 ftp descent I still have nose up trim applied.

I am using the updated cfg that Fraser did and copied that to the existing one making sure that it was saved.

can anyone advise me?

many thanks in advance.

Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nigel :hello:

Are you using the proper .air file for the updated cfg?

Hi Garry :hello:

I think I must be as there were 2 folders that I have - one is the 748 itself complete the other folder has the new panels A1 + A2 a sound folder as well as updated cfg etc. ........ cannot for the life of me remember the name of that 2nd folder now!!

Hope this helps.

Nigel.

Hi Nigel,

How old are the files, or is it the latest version from here?

Hi Ben, got it from the library here last year not long after I got FSX. November - December 2012 roughly.

Guys,

Where can I find the updated CFG for the HS748? I had a peek at the HS748 files section and could only see the FSX port over and V6 panel downloads. Is it in one of these?

Fabulous aeroplane. Unique sound!

Thanks,

Adam

Hi Adam :)

I think I've lost the plot a bit here :worried: Is it an updated cfg for the FS9 model you're after? I guess it is as you've found the FSX portover and V6 panel *-)

Hi DaveB

Sorry I should have been clearer. Earlier in this thread Nigel H-J mentions that he's using an updated CFG. I was wondering if this CFG (aircraft.cfg?) is included in the V6 FSX panel update available on the files section here? I'm using FSX.

PS: I'm not being lazy - I can't download the file to check what's in it as I'm at work :)

Thanks

Adam

Hi Adam :)

No problem. I'm pretty certain the new cfg is the one included with the new panel so if that's the one you're already using.. you're up to date ;) I'll have a quick mooch..

My files are all over the shop mate and I don't think I have the v6 panel. My airfile is dated 2007 and the cfg is dates 2013 which is probably when I got hold of it. I'd better download the latest panel hadn't I

EDIT: Sri to mess you around Adam. Below the 748 portover download you'll see the V6 panel download. I've just checked and the panel download does contain the very latest files so if you're on the V6 panel.. you should be bang up to date ;)

Thanks so much for taking the time to check Dave.

I think I missed the V6 panel update so will download and install the update tonight from home. Still love flying the 748 even more so now I'm using DX10.

Cheers

Adam
