NIgel, I have the B377, and found the COTS expansion made it much more usable. I think COTS is the result of A2A reviewing their very first Accu-Sim release, and realizing that the system-management workload was just too much for one person. So, you now have a flight engineer to take care of that side of things, and you can concentrate on the actual flying part. There is a career mode, but you can turn that off if all you want is the flight engineer.
Honestly, if you like the aircraft ( and who wouldn't ) I very strongly recommend COTS. You'll enjoy the Stratocruiser much more.
Paul, thank you very much for your account of the software, it does appeal to me immensely though would only be for short flights with-in the UK i.e. Cardiff (which I use as home base FTX payware) to Glasgow and return. Problem is with short trips is you end up with a far greater workload than if you fly for a 4+ hour hop.
Again, many thanks.
Nigel.
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
Yes, Cardiff to Glasgow in an aircraft like the Stratocruiser, the post-take off checklist becomes the pre-landing one.Too much and too rushed.
Get COTS and do some long haul - settled in the cruise and sitting in the engineers seat is very absorbing. And try A2A's Accusim B-17 ...its bloody wonderful !!

Will have to wait until around Xmas for one of those. Spent enough on Wales and Scotland so don't think the wife will give me any more pocket money for some time to come!! Apart from that, have volunteered for redundancy on grounds of ill health so if I get it (and there are 4 others chasing it as well as me) the purse strings will have to be tightened even more!! Just getting what I can afford at the mo.....!!!
Kind regards
Nigel.

If you don't get the COTS version and stick with the original then unfortunately you will have me nagging at you from the Engineer's seat if you chose to have the British crew on install.
Sorry about that, but yours truly provided the Engineer's voice for that product.
(BTW our own Techy111 (Tony) did the Captain's voice).
