Jet Provost Question

Post by nsutcliffe »

Hi everybody,
I have dusted off Rick's Jet Provost and thought I would take it for a cruise down to Italy.
During the climb I noticed that the orange SWS light was on and then later the big red light above the transponder came on as well. T&Ps all looked fine. Continued to climb to FL280 and in the cruise the lights are still on.
I am guessing that they warning me of something but can't figure out what!

Thanks.

Hello Mate :hello:

I'll take a look. What sim are you flying it in?

Thanks Dave.
I am using FS2004. I think the red light is for cockpit pressure as it comes on at 10,000'. I don't think that pressurisation has been modelled though.

Hello Mate :)

Yes.. I see the same too. Don't remember getting these warnings before which is odd but time does strange things to the old brain box

I've had a look at the coding and the big red lamp is an oygen warning. I have the TMk5 manual in front of me and that lamp doesn't exist on the panel version in the manual. As you deduced.. it coincides with FL100 which is fine but with no way to turn it off or reset it.. it's a bit unnerving :worried:
Likewise.. we have an SWS warning indicator but no SWS to see what it's indicating. The lamp is 'visible' for over half a dozen different events so which one it lights for in the sim is anyones guess but the FL100 event is likely or a pressure/temp change at or around that alt. I can list the programmed events for you (for the sim version) but without any way to control what's happening.. it seems a little pointless. The cab is dated 19.12.2003 and sadly.. the chap who did the panel hasn't been up on the forum for almost the same time.

Sri this is a bit vague and I couldn't be of more help.

Thanks again Dave.
I shall just put a bit of virtual cardboard over the lamps then!
