Handley Page Herald autopilot
Hello everyone, can anybody tell me where exactly can I found the autopilot of the aforementioned aircraft? I tried all the panels, no autopilot panel whatsoever...Thank you!

It should be right in front of you on the main (centre) panel if I'm not mistaken mate. Which sim are you flying it in?
EDIT on the fly: I see you found it
Glad you're sorted

Re: Handley Page Herald autopilot
Hi all, since I found where the AP was I haven't checked back to see if there are any new replies...I'm flying it in FS9.
Now there's a new issue with Herald' AP...when performing an ILS approach: So I set the sense switch to "GLIDE PATH", and as the manual states, that action will disengage the "PITCH" and "ALT" switches. My question is: since the "ALT" and "GLIDE PATH" switches cannot be active at the same time, how can I prevent the plane from crashing into terrain once I activate "GLIDE PATH"? On modern planes, activating the "APPROACH SWITCH" won't disengage the "ALT" switch, the latter will be disengaged at the point when the glidepath is intercepted. How can I maintain a specific altitude after engaging "GLIDE PATH", until I intercept the glidepath?
Thank you so much!

Re: Handley Page Herald autopilot
I can control the altitude by actually using the yoke..but I
if that's how it should be done...

Re: Handley Page Herald autopilot
Dont fly the Herald but I do fly one of the models that has the same "problem" you discribe, and ive had it start to drift downwards on its own to the point where the ils cant catch up. I make it a habit now of not switching to glide till the indicator is within 2 bars of interception on all aircraft i fly. then theres little chance of the aircraft doing its own thing beforehand, Keeps you focussed on the point of glide slope intercept so gear can go down imediately after

Well, I guess I'll just control the altitude through the use of yoke.
Thanks for reply!

MIB..
I'll blow the dust off my FS9 model and have a look. I don't remember it ever being this complicated
