Hi Roger,
You know those stainless steel conical pasta strainers?
If I sketch a bird deflector version, would you take it to the air safety folks in the UK?
We could be made knights, or better still, make lots of dosh.

They test engines with protective mesh covers over the intakes in labs - http://www.burnsmcd.com/Projects/Detail ... l-Meridian

Probably not fitted in service as it's just something bigger and heavier that if hit as speed by a goose/swan/pterodactyl will get damaged, come off and get sucked through the engine.

They use screens on some helicopters....Seakings for example *-)
