FSUIPC

Post by Nigel H-J »

Just purchased fsuipc and spent the day or rather 2 setting it up, still not finished assigning various buttons and commands but getting there slowly. One frustrating thing was that I forgot to disable joystick and throttles in FSX and as a result FSX appeared to be fighting with fsuipc for control, the throttles were twitching badly all by themselves :-O and if FSX did not get its' way and manage to take control from fsuipc the reverse thrust would then be deployed on one side!!! :wall:

Another thing I found with fsuipc is that since I have Track IR I can utilise the hat switch and have me a trim switch there instead, with FSX you cannot use the hat as trim, well you can, but it is only either up or down!! don't know what other assignments to have for the rest of the hat switch as in all probability will forget what I have assigned to them!! The pan views are now done by the numeric keyboard.

The ability to change the way the elevators ailerons as well as rudder respond is also extremely useful. Just do not know why I had never bothered with it before, it has certainly improved my simming experience immensely.

Nigel.

Hi Nige :hello:

I've had the payware version of FSUIPC for more years than I can remember and in all honesty.. I never use it  Well.. I ALWAYS use it but not manually. I expect it to sit in the background and do what it does without fuss and to that degree.. it has always worked flawlessly. The last time I had to use it was when I got a CH Throttle quad. At the time, I was using 3 x GoFlight units, a CH Pro Yoke and CH Pedals and having them all working was an impossible task within FS (FS9). The only thing I never got working satisfactorily was reverse thrust off the throttle quad. You should be able to move the throttle levers down to the detent for closed throttle and beyond the detent for reverse. Never got it to work :dunno:

One useful feature is you can have separate control profiles for individual aircraft, very handy ;)

Hi Dave

Had the same problem as you, could not get the reverse function to work at all and took me a while before finding out on how to get the reversers to work past the détente position.

Hope you don’t mind me putting this up and appologise if you have done it this way already.

Assign your throttle function on the axis setup menu in fsuipc

Go to the seperate throttles per engine calibration page.

Once you have moved your lever to and fro and have the values set in the menus keep the throttle lever set fully back and press the set button under reverse tab then move the lever forward but only very slightly so that you do not go into détente position then press set button under the idle tab now move the lever into the détente position and press the same button again (under the idle tab) push the lever fully forward to the stop and press set button under max tab you should now have reverse thrust set on your throttle – if that works then do the same for the other throttle.

Kind regards

Nigel

No prob Nige

By the way.. I think your posh spelling of detent refers to the rather grander meaning of relationships between countries rather than a 'stop' on a mechanical device. You're so cosmopolitan you folks 'up north' :cpu:
