Flying east from Old Warden about 10 miles from Duxford.
Looks like hardstandings but which era and airbase? Steeple Morden perhaps?

I stumbled over this a few weeks back Ted but never bothered finding out what it used to be. I'm sure someone here will know :)

Yep :agree:

I just went to look on Google Earth and there is an obvious airfield there with that feature and a pic link to the 'plane', a Canberra at Bassingbourne

Pretty amazing when you think about it.

Full Metal Jacket was also filmed there.

Well, it's a good shot of the M.O.T. experimental road to improve traffic flow through roundabouts. :agree:
As far as the airfield goes..... :dunno:

I thought Full Metal Jacket was filmed at the Isle of Dogs, or was that another war film?
Remember seeing the Memphis Belle film aircraft at Duxford in 89. 5 B17's, 3 Buchons and 7 P51's, not to mention B25 Dolly, an Avenger camera ship and the Tigercat.
Those were the days.
