Yet more graphic issues

Post by GaryJ »

Hi Guys, i just installed another graphic card and now i'm suffering poor quality graphics.

I'm still running good old FS9.
The card is a Nvidia Geforce 2gb, so it's got plenty of oomph! I do have the very latest drivers installed, so all good on that side.
I've even tried older drivers but no change.

The problem i'm having is blurred, totally unreadable fonts in cockpits, on gauges, menus, FSNAV etc. This is only occuring in fullscreen mode, windowed is fine.
It doesn't matter what changes i make to the G card settings it stays the same.

Every other 3d game or sim on my pc works flawless, yet FS9 is a no go :'(

Have any of you chaps had anything like this, if so, is there a simple fix?

Gary

rename FS9.cfg to fs9.old and start FS9. then set the setting back as you would like them :cpu:

Have you tried the latest DirectX9c drivers for it mate? This problem sounds oh so familiar but I'm beggered if I can remember how I got out of it. So annoying too.. everything on the planet runs brill except for the one thing you want

Fingers crossed one of the clever blokes has something worthwhile for you to try.

Edit in the fly.. there you go. Something I should have thought of but didn't. Cheers Ben :)

You could check in the NVidia driver 3D settings that Vertical sync is not switched off. If it's on it will automatically sync with the monitor refresh rate and I think this only works in fullscreen mode. It could explain why it's OK in windowed. There are three vertical sync settings - on, off and program controlled. It might be worth trying all of them to see if it fixes it.

Guys, the fs9.cfg thingy didn't work, but the vertical sync and refresh rate definately worked. Everything is looking wonderful now :welldone:

Gentlemen, Thankyou very much for your help
