As it happens.. I have a raft of bonafide C1K/K3/K4 routes somewhere. Point with the 780 was (I believe) that some of the aircraft operated with civvie crews. I've no first hand knowledge of this but that's what I remember the argument was. I really don't think (though I may be wrong) any such flights with a Pembroke/Prince/Sea Prince or whatever, were civvie manned. The same, sadly, applies to the military VC10's. It's only been in later years that you didn't have to be a SqnLdr to Captain one! Certainly no civvie crews there

All this said.. never say never

You can always fly the C1K model on civvie VA flights.. I've done that before. Flown the Nimrod on Comet flights too.. the Varsity on Viking flights.. gads.. what haven't I done??!!

Hi Anders
They were used in civilian life, but as the President. There was only a small number and one, G-ARCN, I used to see now and then.

TBH, not many folks know about the President![smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)
