My system set up is pretty similar to yours except for Nvidia EN9800GT 1gb.

I was using UKMIL Lossie/REX real weather but default FSX mesh/textures outside of that. Didn't look at what frame rates I was getting, but smooth.

Hi Nige :hello:

Well.. Scotland is a bit of a no-mans land for the most part. I have GenX Vol4 (Western Isles) but other than Scotflight2.1 Photo.. there's nowt else up there.. default terrain and mesh. If it loaded up at Friday Harbor, there's no reason why it shouldn't load at Lossie (mine is default.. Kinloss is freeware) but I couldn't in any way describe it as being smooth. You got a fast chip in your system?? Mines an intel E8400 (3gig dualcore) which isn't what you'd call cutting edge but runs most stuff fine ;)

GenX is on my shopping list but will only come after I get back to work when the docs let me and I feel up to it.

Hi Dave,

you guessed me correctly there. Generally the idea is to set a pgae file instead of windows managed.

Do you have any Scotflight airfields Dave? I Know my Scotflight RAF pack kills FPS for some odd reason even on my PC.

Hi Chris :hello:

I have dabbled with the Scotflight RAF Kinloss and Lossie before and the net result reminded me very much of the Lossie scenery that came with Lago's Tonka. As soon as I flew over the Firth of Forth.. my FR's started to drop. Look back toward England and they picked up.. look north again and they dropped  My Lossie and Leuchars are default.. Kinloss came with Brize, freeware although I don't use Brize at the mo :)

How I wish mate.. how I wish but having been unemployed for all but 8 weeks since March last year.. I'll have to keep the old girl ticking over. I've spent more than I should on RC stuff. God only knows how I've got away with it. Must be my magnetic charm

It'll probably fly in Scotland.. anywhere there's no GenX in fact. I expected it to spit me out at any moment flying fast and low from Friday Harbor but it didn't. It just didn't like it much. Half the fun of something like this is nipping outside to admire your prowess (or lack of) but nipping outside on my rig is akin to listening to Arkwright out of Open All Hours as opposed to Richard Burton narrating War of the Worlds  Never mind.. I've put it down to experience ;)
