Bumbling about in the Pacific North West

Post by speedbird591 »

Following the recent price reduction and OAP discount at Orbx, I picked up some of their older PNW airports in the same area so I could do some VFR short hops. I've just had a very pleasant morning bumbling along the Skagit River valley in Washington State. Starting out at Israel's Farm, a private grass strip on the banks of the river with a nice wildflower meadow and a flock of parakeets.

A short flight up the valley brings me to the town of Concrete which is close to Baker Dam and Lake, a hydro-electric source.

Following the river, road and power lines down the valley brings us to Darrrington

And following the pylons out of town puts us on the downwind leg for Darrington Municipal Airport.

Looks like there's a barbie going on. Excellent.

Hi Ian,

Nice shots as usual,

Roger.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

Lovely pictures Ian,

Darrington is another old favourite from Georender in FS9...I remember spending about a week, persuading VFR Traffic to land and take-off there without crashing into mountains! I'm still enjoying my keyboard as I type this into iPad :)
