Capt Sim 737 Fix

Post by PaulC »

For those with the 737-200, a fix has been created to sort the issue of the APU not keeping the electrics going on the ground. I can also recommend the V1 gauge with call outs. The APU fix was long overdue but thanks to a load of badgering (partly by me!) someone has solved it.

When I say someone, I mean a talented customer, not Captain Sim. It'll be a cold day in hell before Captain Sim produce a commercial model that doesn't require 42,000 service packs before a product is at the standard it should be on release :wall:

Still, great aircraft, just a shame it relies on fans not the actual retailers. :dunno:

OK sounds good, but where is the fix, nothing shows on the CS 737 or updates page?

Thanks Paul, will have to wait couple of weeks and learn to work a bit quicker on the pre-flights with no quick coffee break before engine start!!

Kind regards
Nigel.

Hi Paul, thanks for updating us on this. The author of the battery/APU fix has now uploaded it to Avsim. Search for: Boeing 737-200/Adv APU and Ground Power Mod

I hadn't realised that there was a problem! I like to get in the air and get flying. I don't have the luxury of the spare time you lot have for sitting on the ground fiddling with switches!

As for the V-One callout gauge, I didn't think I particularly wanted one. I like the simplicity of the 732. But I installed it anyway in one of my variants, even though it's a lot of faffing about, just to give it a try. The V-card works OK but the callout sounds don't and I suspect it's a Prepar3d thing. I wasted a couple of hours checking my install but no luck - but as I say, I'm not sure I like the sim talking to me anyway  I'm just pissed off that I could have spent those two hours fiddling with switches and watching the battery not going dead

So the full extent of my 732 alterations are the battery fix, the turbine thrust decrease, autobrakes=0, shockwave lights and replacing the touchdown smoke effect with the more spectacular 707 one.

That'll do for me ;)

Ian :)
