Re: Who's Office might this be?
Well to be honest that didnt come into the thinking, the night shifts played a major part plus getting out with as much of my pension as I could before they changed the rules yet again
I would do the same job as a civvie but that wont happen now although at one point they seemed to be going that way.

Yes, they did discuss civilianising it didn't they?
Well with 16 years to do (unless they change pensions...which they will) and still enjoying night shifts I'm just gonna have to lump it!

Re: Who's Office might this be?
Hi TM..
Sri.. had an op on the right lugole yesterday and they kept me in overnight. Deep joy!
Yes mate.. I have the flag of St George on the RH side
I have a font very similar to that used by Eurocopter for the ec135 but as you see it as I've just typed, the e and c are smaller than the numbers.. that figures and isn't unusual but when I 'bold up' the ec, they look great but the numbers don't. I have it saved as a psd so I'll give it another go. Maybe decreasing the font size for the numbers will work better than increasing the font size of the letters. Ultimately, I think I'll have to simplify the layer and pull it apart.
Nice 'action' shot of you there mate even though the reason may have been to empty your 'wee' bottle
Oh.. while I remember.. the Nemeth model shows large (they look large) strobes on the finlets around the same area as the nav lights. There are also more discrete strobes on the rear of the fuse which for some reason display perfectly. Did your aircraft have strobes on the horizontal stab/winglets/finlet too?

Re: Who's Office might this be?
Cheers Mate
Nemeth have the poor thing very busy as far as strobes go.. it didn't look right and probably still isn't. Last I remember seeing were 4 on the cabin sides (2 each side) plus the ones on the fins. The one on the main fin is steady white (recognition) on the model. It doesn't look too bad so can stay. The spurious ones will go
Been trying to see if the author of ACM ever finished the FSX version. Much talk of it all over the net but no finished version yet. Chasing lamps is so much easier in ACM as well as all the other things it does.
The last thing I'm trying to chase down is where the model pulls the textures from for the grab handles either side of the boom. They show white on the model and should be blue. However, having looked at the majority of the repaints done, they have white handles too.. probably because no one knows where the handles map from

Re: Who's Office might this be?
TM..
I've got a sort of acceptable ec135 below the rotor head now and I found out where the tail boom handles map from by changing maps with a paint using a 'coloured' handle. Unfortunately, not a great deal of thought went into the mapping as the same area colours the blade aerials meaning if I want blue handles, I have to have blue blade aerials. I'm not sure at the moment which looks worse
I dunno what Nemeth were up to with the FSX version. Looking at the nav lights.. I'd an incling they were modelled and didn't need light entries in the cfg. So it transpired. Light entries remmed out and I now have rather more realistic looking nav lights
The whole plot will look better with a high gloss shine so I have to nick some suitable alpha channels from another paint. It'll be about ready then

Re: Who's Office might this be?
I'll tell you what mate.. I'm not doing this again. Why have a forum full of painters and do stuff yourself!
I sat looking at that shot you posted and thought I had the repaint close enough. I then noticed you don't have ally window slides on OLA.. your's are painted fuse colour so.. I painted them. Sat looking at the shot again and tried to find a suitable EC135 lettering. What I have isn't perfect but it's taken so long to get it to where it is now, I think it'll stay this way now.. until tomorrow anyway
That's it.. but no. I then realise the pitot body is yellow on OLA and the models is black so I had to find that and do the necessary.
In the end, much as I wanted the boom handles blue.. I couldn't stand the aerials being blue also so I've changed that back to how I had it before.
I'm not sure the blue is the right blue. It looks almost black in some shots (though to be honest, the model does the same). I may be able to add crew to it but I dread to think what they'd be wearing. Sadly.. OLA's new pilot isn't wearing regulation black flying togs. I may look into that at some point. In the end.. I can't see anymore that I can do. A few things moved a little perhaps but within the confines of the texture maps and my ability to paint upsidedown.. this is where it'll stay for now. I'm glad I kept looking at the shots and comparing the paint otherwise lots of little things would have got past and I wanted to try and do it justice for ya

It's a crying shame someone at Nemeth didn't think a little more about this model. Even in the wrong places, the addition of a sun lamp and camera would have made all the difference. The MD902 has these and even has an observer type console in the rear
It pains me to say it but I bought the 902 this afternoon too
The Manchester scheme is vile and I have to say Paul (if you look in).. I'm not much struck on the bosses wifes choice for you either. You painted it up yet? Police helicopters should be blue and yellow so we all know we're being knicked before it happens
