Discounting physically adding scenery objects which, to a project this size is no small task.. the work you've had to do getting the water right hasn't been a 5min job. Good on yer for hanging on in there
I'm not a huge fan of the way ADE / FSX Planner etc draw aprons / taxiways etc etc. Is there a way to paint these onto the background tile and in ADE or FSX Planner tell it to make the surfaces transparent. i.e. the services are all there, but what you actually see has been painted on rather than drawn by your airport design program?
Will using the apron links rather than aprons have any adverse affect on AI? I'll have a look at that ground polygon wizard. Didn't even know it was there! Really appreciate you help and patients with me!
I've pulled the OS map from '84 as a layer on GIMP and set the transparency so as to try and overlay it on the Bing / Google images, but the Bing / Google images aren't a true top down view (they have perspective) so even when scaled correctly the map doesn't overlay. So, here's my thinking
If I use the map (scaled correctly) as a template I could then "paint in" the map using the Bing / GE images to copy from. This way I wouldn't be using Bing / GE images and could potentially release it to anyone that wanted it. I don't fancy painting in the whole of the docks too, so it would be limited to the airport. For my personal use I could stick with the Bing tiles for the docks etc.
Hi Nev,
I humbly offer the following, which I have made but not yet converted to bgls.
If they are what you want, the colours can be changed to suit. I have purely guessed at what the side under the verandah looks like.
Anyway, let me know if I should proceed further. The current size is 80ft 6" long 15ft wide, roof 19ft, walls 9ft. Measurements estimated from photo assuming standard lengths.
