Some very rare photos

Post by TSR2 »

Hi Chaps, been hunting around Flickr to try and find some photos of Sydenham in the late 70s early 80s and came across these pre and post WW2 shots, some very rare pictures indeed!

Can anyone identify the aircraft at the right of the picture?

It depends which right you mean mate

The aircraft on the right(with others to it's left) looks like a Blackburn Firebrand. The one on the other right (with aircraft on it's left) looks like a Short Sturgeon :)

Thought so  I do believe that's a Sturgeon. Odd looking beastie isn't it. Type Short Sturgeon into Google and check out the pictures in their gallery. It came in an assortment of shapes.. none of them very pretty unfortunately

Nice one Garry

There are a few oddballs in there. :)

It sure did come in a variety of awful guises. All though the standard one looked ok, everything else was, well, ugly.

Try this link to identify older types. I didn't realise that there were so many.
