Re: Instant Scenery V2
Here's a little dodge. Load your SAMM statics into Model Converter X. Things like prop disks ( if displayed) need to have material set to transparent for FSX. Other unwanted items can also be removed by deleting their material but only if that one item uses it. Model Converter X can also be used to add LODs very simply. Cripes I'm giving all the trade secrets away!!!!

The Wessex rotor has been removed and the model shrunk so Mike should have updated this thread. I think Mickey that if you encourage people to modify other people's models that permission to use them will rapidly be withdrawn.
Re: Instant Scenery V2
Being a bit "tetchy" there Brian. I'm sure 99.9% of people who read this forum can work all that out for themselves eventually without encouragement from me. Most were born with sufficient grey matter. Making old FS9 models work as statics in FSX is OK in my book if you only use them to enhance scenery for your own enjoyment.I know my efforts get modified by customers from the feedback and more power to their elbow. It's how we ALL learnt in the beginning.Brian Franklin wrote:The Wessex rotor has been removed and the model shrunk so Mike should have updated this thread. Re: Instant Scenery V2
Ah.. Pitcairn.. I have a radio postcard from there courtesy of my dad in 1946 if I'm not mistaken
If I could learn it all in one go, I'd be more willing to try but that's never going to happen. I don't have the interest in trawling through manuals and to do this sort of thing, you have to really. If it's a 'Quick' guide on one sheet of A4.. let's say 72pt text.. I'll give it a go

Re: Instant Scenery V2
Dave,
The whole procedure is so simple, you're not going to need a manual.
Just download SAMM2, which is good value at 0.00 in any currency.
Once you have the main screen up, just follow your nose.
Choose aircraft.
Choose paint scheme.
Save.
Show model - Happy? then:
Create bgl - goes to another screen to allow placement, select lat/long (use decimals rather than degrees, min & sec) Choose heading. Accept.
Go to FSX and check it out.
If it's not there, your co-ordinates aren't right, check again. If you have trouble converting co-ords to decimal, there's freeware that will do that for you.
If you want any off-air extra help, you know my pm.
PS Any idea how & where Rob Richardson is? Tried Britsim, but no response.

Hi Mike,
Don't often visit Britsim these days but I did look in there earlier, saw and answered your message.

Re: Instant Scenery V2
I you use SAMM, you still need low-poly aircraft otherwise there will be an fps hit.
