ORBX England

Post by PaulC »

Evening all.

So, I run default FSX scenery with all sorts added in, UK ANO, refineries, wind farms etc etc. I tried Horizon VFR ( and old one admittedly) and it just looked poor. I set it up as it advised but no. Didn't enjoy it. It was partly the lack of autogen. :dunno:

I fly all kinds of flights, high up and low level, fast and slow.

In your educated and experienced opinion, is ORBX England really that bad? :hide:

What do you want to see Paul? If you want a representation of the UK its pretty good, but its not "as real as it gets" :) My mate has it and that's what I based my comments on the ukscenery thread in Virtual Spanner. http://www.cbfsim.co.uk/cbfs_bb/viewtop ... 86#p273486

Its not my bag, but it will run well on older systems. :)

Just a thought, but if you give us an area you'd like to see, I can take a few screenshots there with UK VFR and I'm sure Ian or Paul would be happy to take a screen shot from the same location in ORBX. That way you'll see what's possible dependant on the spec of your system / how its configured.

I know he bought it but I don't think he installed it. He muttered something about waiting for an updated tool from Orbx so he could install into FSX and migrate into P3D. Since then they've abandoned that plan and are advising direct install into P3D. I'm not sure if he knows that, so he might have a long wait

Peter said he was going to get it but I haven't seen any screenshots :dunno:

So it looks like the biggest ORBX fans have steered clear of it
Perhaps Dave would load it up again to take a few screenies :hide:

I think there is more likelihood of the real v bombers being recommissioned and hunting down your train

Tee hee hee

They don't need to worry about our trains, they're so old they fall apart on their own. No need to waste the ammunition. We wait until they break down, cancel the service and they send a mobile fitter in a van with some duck tape to find us. It's what First Great Western call a service routine. To save sending the V bombers you just need to let the tyres down on the van.

I don't think I'll be loading it up again in this lifetime.. Martin (T6Flyer) neither. It's a shame because I still believe in the product but I just can't do with things not being where they should be :(

Btw.. I flew over St Michaels Mount on Sunday and it had gone out of GenXv3 :-O I hope Ian didn't nick it *-)

It should be in GEN-X-LANDMARKS\Scenery\VFRGenX-V1-3DO-StMichaelsMount.bgl

You would pobably never see it in Orbx :hide:
