ORBX recent updates.

Post by speedbird591 »

The latest ORBX library update has just been released. The new version is numbered 121201 and I think the only scenery with that library included is CYBD Bella Coola. So if you have ANY ORBX FTX scenery you can download this library from the FTX support page. It has a dual installer so if you're running FSX and P3D you can install it in both. It's a generic library which isn't specific to any region. It contains all the objects used in all their sceneries.

There are new, improved and corrected objects for most areas including England.

Also recently announced is a service pack for Pacific Fjords, SP 003, available from the same place.

If you've admired my HD Northwestern airfields, Ketchikan, Stewart and Bella Coola, the developer has just said that they will be the last for some time as he is now concentrating on non-HD airfields for England. So if you were thinking you'd like some wintry wilderness flying then you could do worse than a package consisting of the Pacific Fjords and the triangle of HD airports PAKT, CZST and CYBD. And no threat of any more airfields to tempt you for some time

Got some news about the first airfield for England, EGHR Goodwood. It should have come out along with the England scenery but it's hit a snag with the airport management over some signage and logos at the airport. So they have to tread carefully around copyrights and branding and when sorted it has to be Beta tested but all the features are done. No time scale has been given.

Good news chaps, tonight we've been testing the DeHavilland anti "more lovely white houses" equipment in the form of 4 x 500lb bombs from a DeHavilland airborne delivery platform and it worked as expected. DB dealt with the houses, I dealt with the local caravan park

It's tempting to load FTX England on my new install just to destroy it with the Mossie

Oh.. and remind me never to go on a caravan holiday in your vicinity

    Brilliant!

A nice job there, bombing drab aerial photographs of white rectangles. However, if you try to put it into practise in FTX England, you'll realise the beauty of the ORBX philosophy. The targets you've been practising with won't be there! They'll be a mile down the road, the other side of the green beach.

I also noted that the new ORBX library contains anti-aircraft gun emplacements...

Good bombing, chaps! Bet they weren't on that map.
Reminds me of one of the CNDs lines way back: "Just one H-bomb can spoil your whole day" :agree:
