ORBX FTX Bella Coola

Post by speedbird591 »

Bella Coola is in British Columbia. Just released today and is the third airfield in the Pacific Fjords region to accompany Ketchikan and Stewart. 2cm per pixel ground textures. I haven't flown out (or in) yet; I just had a quick look around the premises in my BMW and helicopter just to see what's what. The mountains are in winter plumage but I haven't selected snow for the airport yet, which explains the greenery, so I'll spend some time playing tomorrow.

I was under the impression that FTX had ceased further interest in the Nth American area. Still, a pleasant addition, ìt`s just up the road for me and a great area to fly. I will have to indulge after Xmas and the coffers are replenished.

No, I think their largest customer base is in the US, probably bigger than their home region of Australia. Next to come is Spokane Felts Field, after that is the Southern Alaska region followed by the Southern Rockies and then Northern California. Valdez airport is somewhere in the distance but they usually keep the airports quiet until shortly before release. Some time next year they start on the East coast and the first region there will be the Canadian maritimes. Keep your coffers replenished, Alex!

Meanwhile here are a few more shots of Bella Coola in the 'hard winter' setting.
