Good news Paul.
You should see quite a difference with the new card in both image quality and smootheness. Inspector will give you a myriad of settings to play with. There are plenty of forum posts around on the web for basic fsx settings, then you can tweak from there if you feel the need to. The 250 ti will certainly open up the tweakability for you with AA and antistropic settings.

Regards, Steve

It sounds like that went well, Paul. That should keep you happy for a week or two!

It's uncanny that you should speak of adjustments because, on the spur of the moment, and apropos of nothing in particular, I decided to let P3D build a new config file. I've only got two or three tweaks in mine but I thought I'd see what difference a clean config would make. I started in the default flight (Mooney at Norfolk) and the fps (which is set to 30 in the sim) dropped to a stuttery 18 fps! :-O

So obviously, I restored my original Kosta config and back came my smooth, steady 30. So it proves that there are benefits to be had with a bit of tweakery. But you know that, anyway ;)

I know...thats what I'm dreading , Steve. Got to go through it all again, but with the new, more powerful card, at least I feel I will be 'enhancing' instead of 'compensating'.

Ian, just thinking...rather than get a tweaked .cfg from the Bojote site, this time I might start with a fresh cfg, and just follow Kosta's guide. I don't think my old card was up to some of his recommendations..maybe I'll get better results this time. But all that is for tomorrow. Its been a good day, and is finishing with a nice bottle of South African merlot :)
