Yes Ian, its the Aerosoft Beaver and my favourite of all the models supplied as it has an extra set of roof windows and military bits and pieces attached. And yes a new model is coming, but I don't think they've started work on it yet, so its going to be well into 2013 before we see it.
I will persevere with REX for another couple of weeks - like you say, having spent money on it, I wouldn't want to change until I'm sure I've exhausted all the settings and tweaks
Anyone using Opus weather engine ?

Re: Anyone using Opus weather engine ?
I got exasperated with REX today. It takes so long loading the weather and then messes up all my saved options whenever I use it. So I installed this one that Alex recommends and gave that a try. in P3D of course.Vancouver wrote:What's wrong with this Wx prog.

Just fired this Wx prog up to test in P3D. Seems to work seamlessly. Was pissin' down o/s & was pissin' down in the sim![]()
I don't use P3d very often so I just give a quick impression. Tried somewhere sunnier and that worked too.
I've only done a couple of short flights but it's simple and quick and seems to be accurate. I started at Jackson Hole with cleared weather, chose to let the program download the weather for KJAC and within a few seconds it was snowing. Oh yeah, I thought, and checked the live weather and it was indeed light snow.
So I'll run this for a few days and see how I get on and just use REX for the textures. It looks very promising. Many thanks for that, Alex

Ian

I've just tried that little freeware weather program that Alex suggested and I love it! Dosen't get much easier than that. Think I'll stick with it for a few weeks and report back.
Thanks Alex
Thanks Alex
