Just bought MSX Gold Edition (includes MSX Deluxe and Acceleration)

Before I install it, I wonder if anyone has any tips or advice to make life easier/improve performance etc.

I think the general rule is to defrag the drive before and after installation - unless it's an SSD. Then install FSX, fire it up and take a quick flight. Close it down, reboot and then install Acceleration.

I expect I'll be corrected before long but that's what I did successfully the last couple of times. Oh and a lot of people say not to put it in the Program Files (x86) folder as it has too much protection on it. They say you should install directly on to the c drive. I put mine in program files though with no problems, I set it to run as administrator which is probably what keeps it happy.

Ian :)

Two possible routes Nige...

Route 1 - Not too late to bed, easy on the juice and avoid stress!

Route 2 - Burn the candle at both ends, enjoy a t(r)ipple (or three) and bring it on!

As you've bought FSX I guess you've gone for route 2 - you may not have an easy life (and performance might suffer ;) ) but what the heck eh?

Regards,
Chris

What Ian said mate, with the addition of install it on a separate drive if you can, best not to have it on the C drive, but if you must, best put it in something like c:\flight simulator x\ rather than program files. :cpu:

Good luck!
