A little FSX / P3D task manager tweak to try

Post by Paul K »

Spotted this on the REX forum, posted by Ramrod ( cough), but known to his mum as Mike.

When you start up FSX , start the task manager and right click on the fsx.exe and select " Set Priority " to either High or Real time.

It allocates a little more grunt to your CPU, and you will notice better loading times for textures and various other things.

Give it a shot next time you run FSX, it has worked well for me.

Cheers.

Mike.

I'd be interested to hear of any experiences trying this out.

My experience is that it makes things a little unstable which for me and FSX is not worth it, I always feel with FSX even on a good day it is on the cusp of giving up the ghost. *-)

Playing with these will cause any program to become a little less stable, especially one that's resource hungry as it is affected more by other processes running on the system. Normal priority is almost always best ;)
