Sadly, it looks as though we could lose most of our Ash trees in the UK which is the wood they used in the building of Mossies during the war. So if anyone plans to build a replica, they'd better get on with it quickly!

They say that we could lose up to 30% of our trees and hedges as Ash is so common.

Yes.. saw a bit of that on the news a couple of days ago. For sure, the English countryside would not look the same with so many trees missing. :worried:

Altitude and cold weather testing..

High over Iceland this morning with real weather on. OAT showing around -50 with the old girl at around 25000ft in that shot doing a staged climb. Vorticees off the wing tips as I'd just pulled gently on the stick. Conditions perfect for some contrails off the Merlins ;)

I've been tempted to do that trip. We know she's good for range unloaded but we now have 4 x 500lb'ers onboard too :)

I remember ages ago trying to recreate an actual historical Hampden mission to Osnabruck in winter using the Alphasim model. Fortunately for the crew, FSX crashed before they did.

It sounds like our trip to the Rhur and back a few years ago. Started at Scampton with me, Ben, Trev, Eddie and JohnP.. I think that was it, and before we'd had a chance to report 'Enemy Coast Ahead'.. Eddie was dragged from the mission by his future wife and a leaking washing machine. We lost JohnP at the Eder (internet connection failed) and Trev bailed out on the way back due to him living in sunny Spain and being an hour ahead. Ben and I wearily made it back to Scampton some 5 hours later and I believe that was the last time we flew online  The route was authentic and we flew at zero feet all the way there. Never been so knackered in my life
