No speed on aircraft

Post by afqr2007 »

Hi,

I am currently have 4 different textures of DC-10 in my flight sim, all of them are by SGA, they are all brilliant but i have a problem with the speed gauges on them.

On 3 of them no matter what i do the speed always stays at zero and when i press Shift Z to get the red writing that says 0, but i have another one which has working speed.

Now does anyone know of any solution to this, I have reinstalled them all but still have the same problem. Other than the speed they are perfectly flyable, well as flyable as can be without speed readouts.

I'm not sure what link there is supposed to be between speed readings...or not and textures? :dunno:

Maybe they are different models or use different panels but textures has absolutely nothing to do with it.

No.. it had me confused for a second or so

As Garry mentioned panels.. do each of the 4 models use the same panel? I don't have the SGA model I'm afraid. Are you using the models in FSX or FS9?

right, i two myself know of no link between textures.

I have four different colors 1 United, 1 Lanker, 1 Fedex and 1 My Travel. Now they are all the same SGA Model and all have the same Default 747 cockpit.

Now i am currently in flight but upon landing i will switch the cockpits to a L1011 one and see if that fixes it or anything like that.

Forgot to say FS9

lol, yeah all on.

when i was testing it out i got to cruise in the United one and switched to the fedex one and the speed just read 0 which the autopilot didnt like very much...

Must say tho it does make landing interesting not knowing your speed

TBH

Using a 747 panelt for a DC 10 I'm surprised that you are puzzled that there is a problem. :dunno:

Start by looking for a DC 10 panel.

Also using default panels with complex aircraft can cause problems.

I don't know about SGA as they go back a bit, but many of the better models use special coding and that means simply that some default system just won't work.

Have you checked to see what most folk fly SGA DC 10 with?? *-)

i havent been on or seen any websites/forums about SGA to be honest tho i havent looked for it. I was going to ask on here but there are very few DC-10 flights that have been flown that i thought i would just see if i could do it myself.

Also there was me talking about the tristar cockpit, i completly forgot to look for the sga dc-10 one. Me being stupid i think. But upon landing i will put them to the test and see what i come up with.

OK mate

See how you get on with the real McCoy and if there are any issues we might stand a chance of getting a solution...we'll try at least :hide:

If I'm not mistaken, some of the old SGA models didn't come with a panel at all.. just a link to the default (747) so you had to go and find one. There may be something over at Allnodes for the DC10.. that's where I picked up the panel for the SGA TriStar. If in doubt, I'd say the TriStar panel isn't a bad option. The only prob I have with it is that the engines cut whenever it's selected 8) It all fires up again when one of the fuel feed switches has been made/unmade :)

I'll have a look and see what's going ;)
EDIT: There are a few DC10 panels for FS9.. one specifically for the SGA model. They all look like they use the old Concorde gauges but that's only from seeing the thumbnails at Flightsim.com. Type SGA DC10 into the search box and have a looksee ;)
