Hiya George :hello:

I don't think it looks far off for a MkIV either mate. TBH, I've always prefered the later Mk's with the slightly longer front which actually creeps out in front of the spinners.. it looks proportionately better I think. There's something about the later canopy I like too.. single windscreen and flat top. But.. we have a B MkIV and love it or hate it, that's what you're gonna be getting

No serious amounts of testing done with this release yet but updates are already in hand so with any luck, you won't have to wait another 6 years for it to be released ;)

Some nice-looking Mosquitos in this thread. Can someone provide me with the links to download one or two?

Thanks.

Ok. Thanks for your reply, Dave.

Could you recommend one till then? BritSim has a bunch of them, but I don't which one to use.

Ah, so it is an earlier version. Didn't mean to offend anyway - just used to the more pointy nose! ;)

That top view seem spot on ( can't really tell from the other two views ). Thats the problem - its difficult to be certain unless you actually have the model in your hands. Anyway, I'm glad its the bomber version. ;)

Ah, so it is an earlier version.
Well, it IS but the timescale for the Mossies development was comparatively short. Looking down the production history, many variations were produced in 1942/early 43 and it looked like a case of 'can we make it do that'? so they tried it. There are a variety of noses, nacelles, bomb bay doors.. even tail plane widths so to nail one down as the definitive Mossie isn't easy :dunno:

What usually happens is that model development starts and we get a first version to play with. Anything obviously wrong is reported and this gets fixed. This process goes on until we arrive at final beta. Final beta is 'pre-release' and if that's ok.. it gets released. With the Mossie, we had a beta 6 years ago so what Dave has done is gather all the bits together and bolt them up. None of us are sure where the previous/first beta was at.. it's too long ago so for that reason, it's being 'rushed through' if I can put it that way :) Everything that should work will work but the main emphasis is getting it into the public domain in it's current condition rather than rivet counting ;)

Art.. sri mate but I can't really recommend any of the available Mossies as I doubt I've tried them. The last model I flew was the first beta of this one and as you know, that was 6 years ago and I can't remember that far back

I counted over 60 variants of Mosquito, including prototypes and one-offs. :-O

The one being modeled at the moment is a B.MkIV Series 2. Other variants may follow.

BTW 'aeroart' all the Mosquitos over in the Britsim library are all repaints for the Just Flight Mosquito for FS9.
Unfortunately this isn't always made clear in the titles but is mentioned in the full text for each. :((
