X45 by Saitek

Morning all,

Does anyone still use the X45 by Saitek?

The X52 is still a bit pricey to my mind, the X45 can be picked up for a reasonable price so I'm looking into that.

So, what do you think?

Hi Paul check out the prices for the new X65 if you want a price shock! You can pick an X52 up off ebay i guess at a reasonable price?

I used to have an X45 yonks go and from what I remember it was pretty okay. However, as Chris says, have a look round for an X52 as well.

I still have a X45 around here somewhere and I am currently on my second X52 after wearing the first one out with literally hundreds of hours of operation on it (most of it still works fine, just a couple of rotary pots on the throttle and a couple of buttons on the stick have gone intermittent).

The X45 is OK but the X52 is much better. IMHO the X52 Pro doesn't give you much more in terms of useful features to warrant the extra price.

As others have said, check out the Ebay stores as I bought all my gear on Ebay including a set of Saitek rudder pedals and a Saitek yoke at a fraction of the cost of buying from regular outlets.

Hi there PaulC

I've benn using Saitek's Cyborg stick for some time now. I like it quite a lot.
Lots of buttons with a shift button for more on joystick control
Plus two throttle controls. I have mine set up to control multi engine on one and speed brakes on the other. Brakes can be set up to work variable for fine control when hot rodding around the patch.

That Cyborg looks excellent, and ideal if you were a bit tight for space.
