I'm not sure whether I'm doing something wrong or not doing something that I should, but I just can't find these files in the library. I started from http://www.cbfsim.net/library, but from there neither the Viscount "folders" nor the latest upload page show anything uploaded since 2010 ...

Please could I have a little help with a polite nudge in the right direction,

Hi Rohan,

Click on the animated classic British flightsim logo at the top left of every page on the forum to take you to the home page, from there click on library. I don't know how your getting to that old server, but not from any links here
Our homepage is www.cbfsim.co.uk and this is always the best way to get here.

thanks for that. Yes, it would seem that my Library shortcut is indeed taking me to an older version of the site, while my forum shortcut does bring me here. However, I don't see any animation in the header block at the top of forum pages, even using your link onward - perhaps because I'm stuck with IE8 on WinXP Home SP3.

In any event, I'll update my Library shortcut then download the files when I next come on-line early tomorrow. Thanks again,

Hi Ro,

Its the big Image in the top left hand corner of every page, it cycles through pictures of the 1-11, Dove, Jet Provost and Rapide? We tried it in lots of browsers when we first used it which is probably 4 or more years ago now, so it should show in all browsers, certainly IE8, 9, 10, Firefox, Safari etc

for whatever reason, I have no images ahowing in the header at all. In fact, I can't remember ever seeing any in all the time I've been visiting here - at least not on forum pages. Anyway, it's no big deal, so no worries, mate,

It may be a case of compatibility mode. I lost the images here a while back after an update on my WinXP IE8 pc and using compatibility mode got them back Couldn't understand why I couldn't see them on this pc but they were fine on Vista and Win7, both running IE9

It could be compatibility mode mate, or it could be compatibility mode because IE hasn't been patched in a while. I'm pretty sure if IE8 is up to date with its patches it should work without compatibility mode now, but if its out of date, it might need compatibility mode switched on for *.cbfsim.co.uk

Just checked the stats and we've had 240 unique visits from people using IE8 in the last week (247 using Chrome and 425 using IE9) and I'm guessing most of the 240 people can see the images or someone would have mentioned it, so definitely worth checking your IE settings / updates

I use IE8 in "Compatibility" view.

the PC is up to date as far as last week's M$ update. However, I've never used "compatibility view" mode since it seemed to be a worthless feature related to backwards compatibility. I may have to reconsider that decision in the light of Dave's comment though.
