Hi chaps,
Is it worth spending the extra cash and getting the GenX VFR V3 for England and Wales. I've got V2 currently, but I'm wondering if there is much benefit in upgrading. Also, does anyone know if it comes with the bits for FS9 too?

Re: GenX VFR
It includes 121 files containing 60cm/pixel textures together with various landmark objects, buildings and bridges etc. (It has some, but not all, of the Tyne bridges)TSR2 wrote:I'm wondering if there is much benefit in upgrading.
The distibution of the 60cm textures is to complement the landmark objects.
No, FS9 can display a maximum resolution of only 2.4m/pixel photo-textures.Also, does anyone know if it comes with the bits for FS9 too?

Re: GenX VFR
Hi George, thanks for that. The V2 has a separate installer for the old FS9 VFR scenery too, not the genx stuff, just both on the same disk. Still not sure if its worth upgrading from v2 though.
Ben.

Re: GenX VFR
I've been pondering on that same question for a while now. I noticed that FlightStore have a sale on the GenX scenery packs at the moment, but even so you would only save £2-40 on the 3 upgrade discs. At £21+change+postage, I'm still very reluctant to buy the upgrade - mostly because IIRC these files were available free from Horizon to registered users when they were first published ...

Hi Ro,
V1 to V2 was free to registered users, just the cost of the postage which was a few quid, but V2 to V3 was always chargeable from what I recall
