Paintkits

Post by JoHubb »

Hello, it's my first post. Thanks for having this old timer on board.

It's amazing to stumble upon this group modelling classic British aeroplanes. The FS9 Dove and the Handley Page Herald have blown me away - such superb models, inside and out.
I wonder if there are paintkits for either of these? I'm not the world's most talented painter so I don't upload. I just do it for fun!

Hi John,

Welcom aboard!

I don't think there was a paint kit released for either, but DaveB or Garry Russell might have something. From memory, the mapping on the Herald was a bit tricky (not sure if that was the original model or the BETA FSX one that wasn't released) *-)

Hopefully one of the other chaps will be allong shortly with some more info.

All the best,
Ben

Thanks, Ben. There's so many textures for the Herald makes me think there must be something!

I thought the Herald was released, not sure about the Dove *-) :dunno:

I never used them because at the time I was painting I was using ARC Photostudio which can't open PSD so I had to work without a PK. :worried: I certainly had both, but if they had not been publicly released I couldn't pass them on.

Not even sure if I'd still have them as they were of no use to me.

Thanks, Peter.

I found those files but they don't seem to be downloadable - even after I registered on the site.
Other files download ok.

Silly me! There's a paintkit for the Dove in the CBFS library.
That just leaves the Herald.

John,
I have uploaded my copies of the two paintkits to Sendspace. I also posted this on BritSim.

Hope this helps!

regards, Peter :)

Hi Peter,

If these are Ricks originals for the Herald, you'll need to check with him if its ok to upload them publicly. ;)

Ben..

The original Herald (the only one currently available) did have a public paintkit mate. I've just gone through what is left of 'Rick's Paintshop' and it's listed for download at the bottom of the page ;)
