Tongass Fjords

Now that Peter's busy exploring Flight Alaska, it's making me miss my FS9 Misty Fjords. I couldn't stand it any longer, threw caution to the wind and bought Holger Sandmann's Tongass Fjords for FSX and a bundle of cheap Carenado bush planes. I haven't spent much time on it but so far it looks as good as I'd expected. I've turned the sliders up to high, including air, sea and land AI and it runs very smoothly on my laptop. I'll have to keep a lookout for Peter's Icon on some of these remote lakes

But seriously, in FS water is not always good in all conditions and sometimes (often?) very poor.

But in this case that is great water for the Fjords and gives that first shot real atmosphere

On reflection, I think you may be right

It's default FSX water. The sea looks better when the detail is turned up to level 2 but that overdoes the inland water, which looks better on level 1 However, the scenery has an auto freeze option for inland water during the winter months (second shot), so with a bit of judicious juggling you might get something that would half satisfy a passing sailor. And I'm sure one will be passing this way sometime soon

Tom. Thanks for the reminder about 'Return to Misty Moorings'. I did have a look and it does look very good, especially for freeware. But when I looked at all the optional files and objects to download I didn't want to spend the time faffing about! Maybe when I retire
