Re: Crash at Shuttleworth?
Hi Eric
Thanks
I was looking for this having read earlier the Hummingbird had crashed but couldn't find a news story which seems to be now coming through, but the initial "rumour" at least was the DH Hummingbird had crashed at Old Warden
Thanks

Re: Crash at Shuttleworth?
BBC News at 1800 showed crash site - I noted that the windsock was almost horizontal, I therefore conclude that it could have been turbulent behind all those trees & with a low power loading.....dangerous.

Re: Crash at Shuttleworth?
Far too early to conclude anything, other than a bad season at Old Warden (due to the inclement weather cancelling the major shows in May and June) has, tragically, become a terrible one. Sadly the Humming Bird has a history of issues; tragically today Trevor Roche was not as lucky as some of those who've gone before him.Dev One wrote:BBC News at 1800 showed crash site - I noted that the windsock was almost horizontal, I therefore conclude that it could have been turbulent behind all those trees & with a low power loading.....dangerous.

He was superb exponent of the Shuttleworth Collection's aircraft and his experience will be a huge loss.
RIP.
