Ah well, as long as they don't get Celine Dion to sing at the launch. Or anywhere else for that matter.

Where do these people get the backing? Imagine your bank manager's face: "I've had this brilliant idea, Mr. Smithers!"

Oh wait. Actually, I've had a brilliant idea! A replica R101 airship to fly the passengers to their port of joining the Titanic!

"Mr. Smithers! I've had this brilliant idea! Mr. Smithers? :dunno: "

Ian :)

About the time the wreck was discovered, a businessman was on the radio as he had just oredered four Titanics from Harland and Wolfe for cruising with the first in about two years

All H&W said was as with all projects at this early stage, it is subject to confirmation...which of course never came but he did have a lot of free publicity and it might well have been a genuine idea...but...reality???

Do they have enough matchsticks?
I thought they were all used up in that model months back! :dunno:

another one to add to the list - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replica_Titanic

That's not the link I thought it was, there is a web page that has the story of 4 or more announced Titanic replica projects that didn't obviously happen, I'll see if I can find it.
Can't find it, so here's one replica that has been left to rot, the one used on Raise the Titanic :)
