Hi Ben

That works...my res btw is 1440x900, but that's not what I was meaning although the full pic can be seen, it's not really a solution *-)

There are a few forums that you get the full or a viewable size by clicking on the pic, then you have to close them so I rarely do that...I just ignore the pics

I was more thinking of displayed, as is on the page, the entire pic with all the relevant text displayed and of course a few pics can be see at once instead of clicking on each individually

Using 800x600 does away with all these problems and gives an image more than big enough to view :)

Bigger pics is a step backwards.
Garry

Just for info, there's no clicker on iPads, we have to tap - which doesn't always do what clicking does on a PC

Having to tap the + icon is Steve Jobs's legacy (I imagine him showing the finger to us Apple users from the grave  )

Right chaps,

I think thats it now. It should now scale full images for the size of the browser (this should work retrospectively) but you may need to clear your temp files.

Images can be included up to 1024 x 768.

The only snag with this is the abilty to view an image in full screen will not work as the image has already been scaled natively so no more taping on "+" for Ian.

Can the iPadders let me know if this works for them too?

Comments below (and apologies to Peter for sending his thread completely off topic) :worried:

That's it, Ben, you've cracked it. I'm busy relaxing at work now so I've only got the iPad to compare. All the photos are resizing to fit the whole frame inside the forum without resource to clicking, tapping or swearing. Good job, man!

As you say, it's necessary to clear the cache for it to work retrospectively. ( Settings/Safari/Clear Cookies and Data )

Well, I didn't expect to start a long thread so sorry about that...I've just cleared my cookies in Safari and now I will post my two pictures again and then see how they look in iPad:-

EDIT...Well that works by shrinking the pictures so that they are not clipped but I prefer the appearance in iPad of the pictures on Mutleys, where they are not shrunk...EDIT... The pics on Mutleys are over half an inch wider than here.

http://forum.mutleyshangar.com/index.ph ... -accuracy/

Only go to that URL with an iPad as the pictures at Mutleys and CBFSIM look identical on a PC :)

Ben,

Your solution is just fine with me as my pictures will only appear shrunk here when viewed on an iPad...They always look as I posted them on a PC and that is what the majority use...Thank you very much for fixing the clipping problem on the iPad though. I do appreciate all that fiddly work :welldone:

No problem Peter. It seems there are solutions for our forum software to either re scale to the browser size or allow a full screen pop up, but not both which is a bit annoying. On the plus side though, no one should need to resize their pics before posting a link as the software should do that automatically. :cpu:

The iPad can easily display any picture full-screen by simply spreading it with two fingers, so as long as the full picture is displayed you can view it any size you like.
