Re: Scenery Accuracy...
Hi Chaps,
I've disabled the mobile theme and added this mod so that you can zoom into images by clicking on them, The zoomed image will scale to you current res (or at least it should)
Can you tell me what you think?

Re: Scenery Accuracy...
Hi Garry,
What I'm saying is that it will still crop the image, however, if you now click on the image, it will display it full size regardless of what resolution you have your display device set to.
e.g. If your computer screen is set to 1024 x 768 - (image is cropped in forum display) - clicking on image will display the full image, resized for your display.
EDIT - This doesnt apply retrospectively to images posted before this mod

Re: Scenery Accuracy...
Viewing on my iPad, I see the cropped image with the + button in the corner. Tapping which brings up the resized full image. So that's certainly an acceptable solution as far as iPads are concerned.
Because safari thinks it's a mobile platform it's better for us iPad users if you leave the mobile option disabled. But if we're outnumbered by smartphone users then you might need to reconsider. But the way things are going, I think the number of iPad users will only increase. For browsing/forum I use the iPad about 90% of the time now as it's so convenient.
Thanks, Ben.
Ian

Hi Ian / Dave.
The problem with the iPad is that Apple send this string to web servers "Version/5.1 Mobile/9B206 Safari/7534.48.3" (or something similar)
The key thing is that Apple are tagging their own browser on an iPad 2 as "mobile" which is ridiculous. I'll leave the mobile version of our site disabled for now and if we can all use the method of clicking on the picture to see the full image, it seems like a good compromise. Note though, that you don't need to click on the "+" icon in the top left corner of the image, clicking anywhere on the image should work

Re: Scenery Accuracy...
I dunno about ipads as I don't have one but that mod works great with the laptop/notebook I'm on which is something like 1280x800. I've seen this used on other forums and thought what a jolly good thing it was

Re: Scenery Accuracy...
Cheers Dave, it should prove useful, in actual fact I think it would allow folk to post larger than 1024 x 768 without impacting the forum too, but I'll not go there yet. It just bugs me that the prosilver theme doesn't automaticly scale the images natively as this used to happen
Ben.
