Diamond Jubilee River Pageant

Post by FlyTexas »

Watched it this morning on the BBC (online). Very impressive display of boats, and the Spirit of Chartwell looked great all decked out. :) Did anyone else watch or was I all alone?

Recorded it this morning on Tivo and we're just finishing watching it now. Real shame the weather was so dire.

 I wasn't planning on watching any coverage but when I read about the flotilla I just had to watch. They had some really nice boats on the river. :)

Fancy some sunshine Garry? There's a few republicans in Australia, you might like to join.
Cheers, Mike.

Saw a good bit of it here on BBC, almost as damp as it is here but without the typhoons.

Sure I saw a MTB amongst that lot, is there any still afloat ?

MTB102 was the admiral's flagship at the Dunkirk evacuation and was leading the Dunkirk Little Ships at the pageant.

Of course I watched the river pagent thanks to BBC America. I am also chuffed that one of our local PBS ststions has renamed on of its four digital channels as WETAUK and is showing British television shows 24/7. Many old shows, but also some currently broadcast in the UK. So with BBCA, BBC World News and this new channel, I am now spoilt for choice.
