Gatwick help

Post by GaryJ »

Hi Guys
All the years i've been flight simming i've only just decided to fly from Gatwick :hide:
I noticed that when i reach somewhere near RWY26L touchdown markings FS freezes for around two or three seconds. It happens on takeoff and landing. I've tried all types of aircraft, even the defaults....no change:wall:
Does anyone else suffer this problem and is there a fix?

I still run FS9 and use UK2000 scenery addon

cheers

Gary

Hiya Gary :hello:

This is a known issue mate. It's caused by UK2000 LHR believe it or not. If you download the latest version of that, your Gatwick problem will go away ;)

I used to get a really big freeze about 90ft off the deck before touching down. Not the best place for things to stop! All sorted now though ;)

Strange *-) .....I get a big freeze on approach and around 300ft to R/W 28 at London City Airport.

Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nige :)

That may be due to the fact you're approaching London with LHR a few miles down the road mate.. it's a lot of scenery detail for the pc to handle. Then again, it may also be LHR causing it.
The issue with Gatwick had been going for some time and Gary Summons quite literally pulled his scenery apart to find it was LHR. Glad he did though cause I stopped going to Gatwick because of the freezes :)

Hi Dave :hello:

Thanks for the explanation though interestingly when approaching using 08 there are no freezes, could it be that Heathrow is behind rather than in front?

Regards
Nigel.

Which is better? Aerosoft of UK2000 LHR? Regarding to FS9, realism, and RAM load.
Rust and dust, is a must...

That's a difficult one to answer Gokalp. I have them both although the Aerosoft version, while installed, is not active. They both have their merits so much depends on personal preference. I removed/unticked the Aerosoft version a while ago to go back to an earlier (pre Extreme) UK2000 LHR because I didn't want terminal 5 there as it wasn't built during our 'Classic' period but to be honest, the Extreme version runs equally as well and in some instances, better so I ended up going back to that. :)
