New Set of Wheels

Post by Nigel H-J »

Finally took the plunge on Sunday and purchased a brand new set of wheels, took a test drive first and really liked it though I did not buy from the dealer in Lincoln as can purchase a brand new model at half price on the internet.

Have been informed that delivery will be on Friday.......which means I can use it for shopping on Saturday.

it has extremely good performance with a top speed of....................wait for it............................4mph and has a range of approximately 10 miles

Walking has become extremely painful and slow due spinal problems as well as arthritis so getting about is going to be much easier.

Now it's going to be payback time at the supermarket to all those who used to nearly run me over with their shopping trolleys!!

Small enough for the boot  This is the one I am getting though not from this company.....just had a Senior Moment after leaving web address at home!!

Hi Nigel,
I didn't think you were having a senior moment, I just guessed you were going to show us in a youtube video or something. :dunno:

I was, however, a little confused where you bought it when you said, "You took the plunge". And that maybe the dealer was at the bottom of a lake!

. ... :worried:

  Excellent !

Nigel, sorry to hear of your woes, but glad that you will be able to get around more easily. I'll head that way myself eventually - already got a fold-away walking stick because of my increasingly gammy left leg. 8)

I got myself a Pride Hurricane (max 8mph) in '96 so I could get out of the garden and see the countryside. Best thing I ever did, I still have it and it is on it's 3rd set of betteries and still going strong.

At the same time I was bought a TGA (max 4 mph) shopping scooter that broke up into bits for carrying in the car. Very useful and it gets me round the shops with ease and my wife likes it because I can carry all the shopping! There is one downside and that is shopping baskets - they are often at face height and lethal in the wrong hands.

Enjoy your new found freedom.

Rick, unable to view that video link as is blocked by IT :( but will get to the library now with my scooter next week so will view it then.

Paul, if you want a link to where I bought mine then let me know, £900 at a mobility shop but only £495 from where I am buying, no VAT if disabled and free delivery.

Regards
Nigel.

Thanks Nigel. I've only just entered the fold-away walking stick phase. I don't always use it, but it can sometimes help after a long period on my feet ( which also brings on lower back problems ). Anyway, if I do get a buggy one day perhaps you, Allan and myself could form an owners club, with things like rallies to Goodwood Festival of Speed and whatnot. ;)
