Re: BMI Baby to Close?
IAG didn't want Baby or bmi Regional.
If they remained unsold and became part of the package then a substantial discount was in order
The bmi aircraft are already being painted into British Airways livery, G-MIDX is currently in the paint shop and all bmi aircraft will be in BA colours by the Autumn except the two A.330 which are leaving.
In the case of Baby, IAG has no intention of running it so unless it is sold it will be closed down, which appears to be happening.
Given the timescale to absorb bmiBritish Midland as given above, that will tie is with the closer of Baby as that is when they want it all finished with
I don't know if Regional can be sold or if that will suffer the same fate
Bu, as it stands, if IAG's plans go as they hope then with the departure of the two A.330's at the end of October, no trace of British Midland will remain....so that would mean Baby and Regional gone too.

Thanks Garry.I find this very sad because,as I have mentioned before,I had quite a long association with their comms section, and of course it is a blow for their employees.EricT

Thanks for that info Ben.
As a result I've just rebooked my EMA-AMS flight in August. Not had e-mail confirmation yet but my booking is no longer in the BMI Baby system.
Had to go with KLM from BHX - bit more expensive. Someone might be offering EMA flights by August but if not the BHX flights will be full and expensive.

For what its worth, I think I saw somewhere that talks were ongoing between IAG/BA and a potential buyer for bmi regional, but I don't know what the situation there is, if indeed it is happening.
