Got a heads up about this last week. Only because it will have an impact on operations at work :)

Quite a few are expected to turn up at Manchester and possibly more than the crowd that greeted the A380.

Personally the plane does nothing for me. I'm on a course next week so I'll miss it. Hey ho. :worried:

Pity you're not there because you could have asked them what glue they use

Epitome of ugliness....the blunt nose and bent wings are truly insulting to my eye :|

My personal opinion is its one of the best looking modern aircraft of recent years and very different to the standard tubeliners that Airbus and Boeing churn out. Infinately better looking than the horror thatis the A380

The A.380 is something else

but I guess, like many you like the Comets short nose, something I always found particularly ugly :hide:

I just don't like short noses

En route into Manchester at this very moment.

Buzzing round the lakes currently. :)

I've asked a colleague to get a snap.

Apparently, when in Manchester it will operate some demo and be flown by Thomson.

That is the third 7l87 built and now the oldest flying. The first two have both been retired now.

Four flying for Boeing, nine in service and two retired is the current status as far as I can tell

Even though this was the first official visit to LHR before MAN there was one that went to Heathrow a few weeks ago. ANA use them on the

Frankfurt and one diverted to LHR, forget the reason.

Here is the European scheduled (as published)

April 22– London's Heathrow Airport
April 23 – Manchester Airport
April 25 – London's Gatwick Airport
April 27 – London's Heathrow Airport
May 1 – Oslo, Norway
May 4 – Taranto, Italy
May 7 – Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport - Washington, DC
May 11 – Dallas, Texas
May 14 – St. Louis, Missouri

Nice to know that Washington, Dallas and St. Louis are now in Europe
