My brother and I had a Commodore VIC-20 at first, then I purchased a C= 64. That computer and I had a lot of good times together until the power brick died and killed it (common ending for the 64 unfortunately). I learned the joys of debugging binary code from that computer, as well as just how fun it could be to create your own programs in BASIC.

A lot of us went through the Commodore phase, sadly it never caught on in the way that it should. For its time the 64 and subsequently the Amiga had far superior graphics capabilities to the PC and Apple. I remember that awful tape drive machine that attached to it, S_L_O_W would be a kind description. And the BASIC was kind of quirky with those weird symbols, I never quite got to grips with that, I had learned Sinclairs other quirky form of BASIC.
Sad to see a pioneer pass though.
Was a major sponsor of Chelsea FC for a while too I seem to recall.
