It is big mate. The first time I launched it I just got it up high and well away from the ground until I got a feel for it.
The Hawk is only three channel (same as the Champ). However you don't have a rudder on the Hawk.
It has Ailerons and Elevator.
One thing I like about the Hawk is the way the motor is mounted. Rearward facing so you avoid potential damage during landings.
However it does take a bit to master the (hand) launch as it tends to go nose heavy for a few seconds when you release it and power on.
I made the mistake of launching it first time with full throttle and it pushed it straight into the ground!
Having looked at other owners feedback on the web its best to launch on minimal power. The thing is practically a glider and floats around for fun.
A good camera plane as well mate. Thats a must if you opt for one.
This is what I'm getting next, subject to SWMBO giving it the green light.
