Cheers guy's..
A new day and I'm a day older
George.. the wind and snow have finally arrived (had arrived) but it didn't stick and it's just bloody windy, cold and miserable now

Fortunately, this didn't come until early morning so we were able to walk up to the club for a few jars last night
Mike.. I can't takeoff from the ground anyway mate as the surface is too rough.. my daughter had to do the launch procedure (which took us both a bit of getting used to)

The Champ has so much lift and even the tiny breeze we had yesterday was enough for it to go vertical after she'd let go but I learned to counter this by adding a little 'down' elevator
Dale.. yes mate.. I'm chuffed to bits with the model AND the life of the batteries which was a lot better than I expected. I was careful not to let them get low and none of the 3 I used took very long to recharge. I had around an hour from 3 batteries (though this wasn't all flying you'll understand.. much of it was taken by my daughter running miles to retrieve it)

When the breeze dropped.. it was a lot of fun to fly and I found I could control it reasonably well.. at one point keeping it at just above zero knots facing into what reduced wind there was

On the other hand.. when the breeze picked up.. it climbed on it's own.. turned round and was off at an alarming rate with the wind and me unable to control it. That wasn't fun at all

I thanked my lucky stars I didn't have Eddies Wildcat!!

Looking forward very much to the next 'gap' in the weather
